Fourth Sunday of Advent

REFLECTION

The birth of Christ is a key moment in God’s plan of salvation. Through the prophets God prepared his people for the coming of his Son. We pray that we too may be prepared for Christ’s coming, because each of us is also a part of God’s saving plan. As Mary nurtured the Christ-child and Joseph protected him, we must welcome him into our hearts and by our lives proclaim his presence to the world.

Confession for Christmas
The Penitential Service for the parish will be held today in St Joseph’s Fincairn at 6.00pm. There will be 5 or 6 priests present and will only stay as long as we have people there. This is a wonderful opportunity to prepare properly for the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, who has called us all to repent and believe. The Sacrament of Confession gives us an opportunity of inner healing and self confidence. God deals with the whole person at all times therefore this Sacrament gives us peace of mind, relaxation in body and refreshment in soul
